Three volunteers lead 1st Southwark Scouts – here’s who they are

Our group scout leader is James. He provides leadership and support, making sure the group develops effectively and supports the scout program.
He was once a cub and then a scout in Devon before moving to London to work as a journalist.

Luisa is our scout leader. After many years in the movement back home in Italy, she moved to London and volunteered with 1st Southwark scouts.
Her creativity and enthusiasm are on display on a Monday night, giving the scouts fun, interesting things to do.

Thomas, our assistant scout leader, uses his scientific brain to make sure everyone keeps learning!
Scouting was in his family back in Middlesbrough, so after moving to London in 2023 – 1S scouts were the first people he spoke to.
Tom enjoys outdoor sports, including touch rugby.
Would you like to join us?
We’re always on the look out for keen, enthusiastic people who like working with young people to join us.
From weekly, monthly or occasional volunteering – your energy would be highly valued.
If you live near us and can spare some time, send us an email to find out more. Thank you!
Beavers, Cubs, Squirrels – what about them?
We have previously run a beaver colony and cub pack. Sadly when volunteers moved on, they had to close – so now we only have scouts.
If you have energy, commitment and experience in scouting and would like to discuss bringing any of those back – please do get in touch.
