World war 2

We like to bring history to life at 1st Southwark. This evening our Scouts got straight into the hard task of meal planning for a week using actual WW2 rationing there were alot of jam sandwiches. Leaders brought to life the war experience with regular air raid sirens and drills and footage of Ukraine being bombed. We discussed other roles in the war and learned about what the Queen did. Our Italian leader shared a story about Scouting bravery and saving the lives of 5000 people who had to flee the Nazi regime . Our Scouts shared some of their family stories about wars in other countries too.
